Are you hoping to take the Landscape Architect Registration Exam this fall? Practice tests for Sections 1 and 2 are now available online. As reported in the February issue of LAM, the LARE will be going through some major changes this fall; however, sections 1 and 2 will be very similar to sections A and B on the old exam. More information about the changes is available from the Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Boards (CLARB).
Of course the sections that everyone is looking forward to seeing are 3 and 4, which will replace the hand-drafted problems on grading and design with new, computer-administered problems. Practice tests for those sections will be available in September, according to CLARB.
Hi Dan. Have you seen the latest video from CLARB? It shows some examples from Sections 3 and 4…curious to know your thoughts on this:

Well they are now saying that exam prep for the December exam will be available in October, not September. It is October 6th and still not posted on CLARB’s website. That gives candidates less than two months to prepare for this newly formatted exam and without the prep courses that have been available in the past. I must say they couldn’t have chosen a worse time to make professional licensure more challenging; so many of us are reeling from the impacts of the current state of the economy.
